What's the best major to go along with philosophy?
I don't think philosophy actually teaches you things as much as it develops thinking skills, so I would like to double major in philosophy and something that is more geared to teaching you. I am interested in many of the humanities, English, Journalism, Communication, Sociology, Psychology, History, and less interested in economics and political science, but if those are good to along with philosophy then please tell. Which one of the studies listed would go great with philosophy in your opinion and why?
If this helps, after double majoring I either want to go into Law school or do a PhD. program in Psychology, but that doesn't mean that the double major has to be Philosophy and Psychology.

In my opinion, the best major would be History. In Philosophy, you are taught the ideals and perspectives of many historical figures. What is lacking, however, is the historical context that contributes to these perspectives. The two subjects complement each other, and you will have a more rounded education because of that. Also, history is a very good precursor to law school if you are not too keen on political science. History provides background to the many forms of government institutions and statutes that create the basis for the justice system today. Good luck in school
