Just getting the attention of a high spirited child can be a challenge of a life time but being able to keep that child's attention is the true trick to helping them spark their imagination in a sense that learning will be a fun and rewarding experience. Learning should never be confined strictly between the four walls of a learning facility. It should be ingrained in a child's every day activates but far too often the mundane tasks of educating a child are left solely up to the assigned teacher.

It's vital that learning be a partnership between a child, their teacher, their social network and their parents. If a child has this partnership they will surely be set up to succeed in a world that demands more out of them at a younger and younger age! Once this bond is formed you'll see your child learn in exponential ways that you likely thought wasn't possible.

Now, let's get back to the task at hand. You want to be a partner in your child's learning but you have a hard enough time getting their attention long enough to eat dinner or to take a bath! How on earth are you going to get them focused enough to learn? Here is the fun part! Structured learning events with parents should be at a minimum as this is the primary function of the teacher. A child must learn how to function in a highly structured environment in order to function properly in socially when they are in their adult years. Again, this should not be your primary focus when engaging in learning exercises.

Because of this, you can utilize several techniques to keep (or not keep) your child's attention. Many people have found great success in role-playing with their children. A lot can be learned by playing pirates! As your child is busy searching for lost treasure it you're responsibility to fill their heads with the occasional fact or history lesson as you wander around the island with them searching for that lost gold! Don't forget to get lost in time with them. This will not only help you with building educational bonds with your child, it will also help foster an emotional bond with your child that will last through your entire lives.

Utilizing visual stimuli is a great way to use playtime as a learning tool.

Playmobil Toys for example has a large product line of toys that can be used to spark the imagination and turn playtime into learning time for your child. Getting down on the floor and holding discussions with your child as you play will encourage the thought process, question asking and will have an end result of a stimulated child.

No matter what method you choose to interact with your child it's important that you participate in the educational process to ensure your values are being instilled into your child and that they feel you have a vested interest in their development. Who knows, you just might learn from them along the way!

Sexually Deviant Men?

Psychology is very interesting to me. Why people act the way they do. Sexuality is an interesting topic, and the subject that I have curiousity about is with is Pedaphilia. I have read up why they molest kids and what factors contribute to their becoming sexually attracted to minors. BUT, my question is there hope they can be helped? Can they be changed? and the big question I would like answered is WHAT TECHNIQUES DO THERAPIST USE TO CONVERT SOMEONE WHO IS A PEDAPHILE OR SUFFERING FROM PEDAPHILIA, to change his/her sexual to a normal relationships with adults? What studies have been successful in treating these people??
I hate to see innocent children being abused sexually and I am also one of those believers that education is the answer to prevent this from happening.
The second point I would like to make is that shouldn't great efforts be made to provide better services to help the mentally ill?

Show me one who isn't!

The University of Paris 06 is the best university in France according to the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). The ARWU is published by the Institute of Higher Education at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University and several indicators of academic or research performance are used to establish the ranking, these include highly cited researchers, articles indexed in major citation indices and staff winning Nobel Prizes.

I am currently a junior and I think I want to major in Economics when I am in college. I want to go to a college with fairly warm weather, so the colleges I am currently considering are: Emory, Claremont McKenna, Georgetown, George Washington, American, University of Richmond, Pitzer. How do these schools rank for undergraduate economic programs?

What is Tariff, how and what for it works ?

I think it's too late for me to understand anything explained in the online dictionaries. This is the first time I'm facing economics and I just haven't been accustomed to thinking in this sphere.

Tariff is a tax on items being exported into a country. The theory behind it is this: If a country makes and sells steel, a tarriff on imported steel is levied so that the imported steel is more expensive then the locally made steel giving the local steel an advantage in the steel market. The problem with this is the local steel market companies can keep prices artificially higher then they should be as is the case for tariff imported steel. This makes schools and hospitals and cars more expensive. Tariffs, for this reason, ends up hurting more people then they help. If a country has say 100 steal workers then I'm hurting thousands upon thousands to keep them in market share by making the whole population spend more on steel products.

Here are four tips to help you make the most of your college experience.

1. Do not expect to college is like high school.

Unlike teachers, university professors do not break not daily tasks for you. They expect to read the program work plan and deadlines for the class.

In many classrooms, half the class may depend on one or two tasks. university professors rarely evaluated separately for homework and class participation, so that your course grade will be based solely on test results and documents.

2. Do not expect a college as his place of work.

Your employer has hired probably because of its suitability for use, tells you how work must be done, and learned to do. At least the first week, someone probably checked daily to see how to get along and if there were any questions.

4. Feel free to ask for help.

If you see problems with an academic subject, make an appointment to see your instructor immediately. If you have problems that affect more than one class as a learning disability, consult the college catalog or ask your counselor to refer you to someone who can help.

If your problem is not academic, you may be able to obtain help on campus. Most universities can refer you to employment services, support services, academic health and advice for personal problems.

With realistic expectations and willingness to seek help has made a good start in their title university.

Where are the jobs of college mathematics??

My husband has a doctorate, but realized as long as he really want be a professor of mathematics at the college. He has 6 years elem. ED and a bunch of higher education, but he scored a perfect 100% test mathematics in their public education. Where are the college professors of mathematics as a school district does not have a doctorate in mind in the classroom? Sources for finding a job? Especially in the Illinois / Iowa / Wisconsin / Missouri area - but it is good everywhere. Ideas respect? He is also interested by the concepts of adult education remedial math basic / etc in an environment of adult education. It is not really interested in being a college professor, but a university professor turned to him. He has taught as a volunteer and a substitute. Kids say all the time how big it is. I think that's why they want to teach full time in mathematics.

Pagan books for children are not always easy to find. A glance through the blogs on Google which deal with Pagan parenting reveals that many parents who want to bring up their children with ideals of living in harmony with nature often have to search hard to to find suitable children's books.

Of course, it is not hard to find children's books with magical themes. Alan Garner, C.S.Lewis and Susan Cooper novels have been enthralling generations of children. The more recent Harry Potter phenomenon testifies to the everlasting appeal of magic.

However, Pagan and Wiccan parents know that there is more to magic than waving a wand and casting spells.

The real value of Neo-Paganism lies in the appreciation of the cycles of nature and the recognition that we humans are a part of the natural world. We are not its masters or manipulators. Two thousand years of Judeo-Christianity and four hundred years of scientific materialist philosophy dominating the mainstream, has led us not to salvation by either God or Science, but to the brink of ecological catastrophe.

The ideologies which view the Earth as a mere resource to be exploited and bled dry by the leeching dominant species have directly led to the felling of the rain forests, the pollution of rivers, streams and seas and the dramatic decline in bird, animal and plant species.

And it all starts with the kids.

If you sit in church and learn that Man was given dominion over the earth and everything on it, you absorb the the attitude that you can take or destroy by God given right.

If you sit in a classroom, dissecting a dead frog or rat, and learn that the world around you and all its forms are nothing more than lumps of soulless matter and life is nothing more than a giant food chain with you at the top, why should you bother to care that that piece of blood and meat under your scalpel was once a living breathing little creature who cared about its life and its mother, brothers and sisters just as much as you.

So that it why books for children which present the Earth as our home, our motherland, our Mother are vitally important.

Those of us who write Pagan children's books, see the Earth and her life forms as a part of a great, wondrous interconnected web; the whole created universe as a fantastic miracle - no less amazing because it renews itself each day with the rising of the sun and the passage of the moon across the sky.

Every animal, every bird, every rock, every tiny plant are important in the Neo-Pagan world view because the creation and destruction of each part of this miraculous web affects us all. A breath of wind on one part of the web shakes the whole.

Children are shaped by the philosophies of the world in which they grow up. The printed word plays a huge part in disseminating those ideologies, often through the unconscious mind.

That is why those of us who wonder if we are insane to spend so much time struggling to write books for children, (and even more insane to try publishing them!) do put up with the financial hardship, the lack of comprehension of even people close to us and the harsh materialism of mainstream society.

No judging, No assuming, No taking things personal Can you really live by this credo? Probably the wrong word but I'm sure you'll tell me:)
Here's my case in point: Your grandchild comes home with a new friend. This friend turns out to be someone you don't like.{judging?} The reason you dislike this child is that you believe they will be a bad influence.{assuming?} To me, I feel like, my influence on her, has failed.{taking things personal?} This is for fun, no serious answers,of course unless you want. Personally I do just fine with 1&2 but taking things personal--I flunk:) but no way would anyone would no this though.

What are the restrictions for you if you do not hold QTS?

The law allows you to teach in the UK without gaining QTS for a total of four years. This time starts from the very first day you start teaching in a UK school. This is often called 'the four year rule'. Although this is possible, and teachers from overseas make a very valuable contribution to UK schools in this way, it is important that you are aware of, and learn of the benefits of obtaining QTS. If you wish to continue teaching outside of these four years, you will need to obtain QTS.

What is QTS?

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is required in England and Wales to become, and continue being, a teacher of children in the state and special education sectors. Similar statuses exist in the rest of the United Kingdom (Scotland and Northern Ireland), but under different names. The set of standards is issued by the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF) and The Teacher Development Agency (TDA) is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the QTS process and allocates each assessing organisation with a number of QTS places.

Teachers must meet this criteria in order to gain QTS and evidence must be shown in a portfolio, against the requirements.

Why gain QTS?

Three simple reasons:

If you want to teach in the UK after the four years has expired

If you want to return to the UK to teach at a later date

If you need an extension to your Work Permit, Holiday Visa or Working Visa.

How do I obtain QTS?

An employment based programme is the quickest and easiest way to obtain QTS. This allows you to work in a teaching job as well as studying. It is sometimes possible to be awarded QTS without undertaking extra training by assessment only but the type and length of training depends on your qualifications and previous experience as a teacher.

What should I do if I am an overseas trained teacher?

In order to get the best advice on how to obtain QTS, it is strongly recommended that either before you arrive in the UK, or shortly after your arrival you:

Primary Teaching Oppurtuntities in Canada?

My wife is primpary school teacher in england and she have got QTS and now doing part time MA in education. We want to move canada and we were wondering if teaching standards are same over ther or are different? Could someone guide us as how can she apply for as primary teacher in Canada and does she need to do any study in canada or would they consider UK qualification satisfactory to apply for jobs?

The most important thing to know is that teachers are certified separately in each Canadian province. So for example the British Columbia College of Teachers certifies teachers in that province. Getting certification is quite a complex process. You should contact the appropriate certification body directly if you know which province you will reside in. Michael Beckwith was born in 1956. His first experience with religion was not particularly pleasant, and he left his native country, Methodist Congregational Church and 16 years. As he said, because "only I was not feeding. I loved the teachings of Jesus, but do not see people practicing what he said. "Like many other baby boomers, who have begun to examine this problem and ways of African spirituality 1970s. However, unlike many of them decided to create his own church at the time of his 30th birthday.

While serving as a leader and keynote speaker at the banquet, he fell in love and married the conductor, the former Rickie Byars. Rickie BB is important in itself as a musician, composer and performer. She joined Agape in 1988 and has been convinced by Michael to form a choir of 30 years, the voice of Christmas. Almost 20 years later, continues with over 200 members of the world integer + and visits. He continues to this day, in his role as director of the church choir. The pair played together in several albums of devotional music. Their four children are now adults with their own children.

Rev. Beckwith continues to bring his message of peace and esteem self to millions with his inspiring ideas. He is the author of several books, including most recently, the heart and Inspirations peace manifesto.

I graduated from college with a 2.01 GPA, and now I want to get a Masters. What online schools will accept me?

I graduated from the University of Rhode Island and earned my BA in Economics. Now I'm looking to take some online courses to get my Masters Degree in Economics. However, all the popular online colleges (University of Phoenix, Kaplan University, etc.) all state on their website that a minimum GPA of 2.5 is required to enroll. So I need to know, can I really not get accepted to these programs with a 2.01 GPA? And if so, what accredited online universities will accept me with a 2.01 GPA? I would appreciate any information. Thank you very much.

In a speech at Macombe Community College in Michigan, President Barack Obama has made some major new announcements regarding funding and plans for adult education and community colleges. The announcements come as many adults return to education in light of the recession, with recent reports from the state of Utah (at sltrib.com) claiming that the number of enrollments have increased by 19 percent in the past school year.

Obama was generally positive about the nation's community colleges and highlighted the past trend of treating community colleges 'like the stepchild of the higher education system'. But he also had some criticisms that called for some reform.

'Now, I know that for a long time there have been politicians who have spoken of training as a silver bullet and college as a cure-all," he said. "It's not, and we know that. I can't tell you how many workers who've been laid off, you talk to them about training and they say, "Training for what?" So I understand the frustrations that a lot of people have, especially if the training is not well designed for the specific jobs that are being created out there.'

$12 billion has been earmarked for a ten year initiative to be used across the USA, in an attempt to improve the degree completion rate by 50 percent. According to insidehighered.com, president of the American Association of Community Colleges George R. Boggs described the plan as 'pretty ambitious'.

Yet, the use of distance education as a tool to meet these goals can also be regarded as just as determined. President Obama aims to make such courses free online - a move that has been called "historic" and "transformative" at the above source.

Where and How can I get my GED?

Hello, I just recently dropped out of high school. I'm 16 years old and I did it because of financial issues to help my mom. Anyways, I'm not really sure how to get my GED though. Is there an adult education place I go to? I live in Warren, Michigan. Some insight on this would be very appreciated.

you have to be 18 to do the ged test but i suggest you take the spare time to borrow the ged study guide and practice the questions... I passed mine on the first try. Its just common sense, I'm sure you'll have no problems passing. Although I'd go to a community college just to be sure of it.
