The Main Menu should allow the coach to access either the Highlight Section of the disc or the Full Game or Play All.The Highlight Section should have a sub-menu to allow the coach to either play "All" or select a "Play Number".

The Highlight Section

The first thing a coach should see when he plays the highlight section of your video is a screen that has the following information and a picture of you in your uniform. This screen should remain up for about 6-7 seconds. If you have so much information that you need a second screen then it should follow for another 6-7 seconds but without the picture. The coach can pause the image if he needs more time to review it.

This information should be also be printed on the face of the disc so he can find you quickly if he needs to and he'll have all your info at his finger tips. Player Highlights 2007

Identifying the Play

Each play should be identified with a slate displaying the Play Identification Number preceding the play and have a chapter marker inserted by the editor during the editing process so the play is easily accessible through a menu by the coach if he wants to review certain plays again.

Identifying the Player on Screen

Each play should start with a freeze frame of the set up and the player clearly identified with a circle or an arrow so the coach knows exactly where to look on the screen. This should remain for approximately 2 seconds on screen then be released for the action to play through. In some cases, the editor may have to zoom in and out to locate you on the screen and in some rare cases, if the player is off screen when the play begins, the play will begin then freeze when the player enters the action, the player will be identified with an arrow or circle and the play will continue. If the action is very fast, the action may be slowed down.

Number of Plays

The number of plays should be determined by the quality of the play itself and the athlete's performance within the play. A good number is between 20 and 30 .In some cases, less is more. The important thing is to convey how you do your job in a given situation and the consistency of your performance. It makes no sense to show 15 really outstanding plays mixed in with 15 marginal plays just because the number of plays is limited by the editing facility. The old show biz adage of "Always leave them wanting more" rings true here.

A Complete Game

It is becoming a common practice to include a complete game at the end of the highlight section of your presentation.Pick the game you and your coach feel is your best work and include it at the end of your highlight section with separate access through the menu.

Pre-production

Logging the Plays

Any highlight video is only as good as what is on the tape, so it's really important to get footage from as close to the original source as possible. Now days most schools have moved on from VHS to mini-DV that allows for copying from tape to tape with no loss in quality. VHS, on the other hand, loses quality with every generation of copying. A VHS copy of the original game tape will suffice but be slightly lower quality than the original. A mini-DV copy of the original VHS will yield the same quality as the original VHS tape. For each game tape, start the tape at the beginning after resetting the tape counter to zero. If your footage has been transferred to DVD, the time or location of the scene can be view by pressing the display button on your remote. When you reach a play you want to include in your highlight reel, pause the playback and make note of the time or location of the scene as it appears on the tape counter. Log the time each play starts and ends onto a log sheet with a brief description of the play. Log sheet forms can be downloaded here or you can make your own. Make a separate log sheet for each game tape.

Text Elements

All text elements that will appear on screen, like your bio and stats, should be created in a simple text editor and submitted to your editing faculty via email as a text file with a .txt file extension. Be sure to run it through a spell checker first because they will most likely import the file into their editing software "as is". In this case, you are responsible for providing with the correct information.

Music/Graphics/Special Effects

Overuse of music, graphics and other "creative" elements detract from the overall statement you are trying to make, so they should be used sparingly or not at all.

Review Before Duplicating

Ask your editing facility to post your highlight video on the Internet for a final review before duplicating copies. If you need something changed, added or deleted then is the time to do it. Before it's "carved in stone".

When to start

The Junior year is the best time to start sending out recruitment packages with a follow up package in your Senior year. A well-planned highlight reel would include both Junior and senior years. A professionally produced and edited highlight reel will pay for itself for years to come if it results in a scholarship. A college education today costs upwards of $40,000.00 per year and you never get a second chance to make a first impression.

The Bank of England's monetary policy committee (MPC) has voted to keep interest rates consistent for this month, it has emerged. As a result of the move, the base rate of interest attached to secured loans and other types of credit will remain at 5.75 per cent, a rate which has remained unchanged since July. Consequently such a move could be welcomed by homeowners and other Britons, as no increase to the figure means that their level of repayments on borrowing will not rise any further. Meanwhile, figures released by Nationwide ahead of today's decision indicated that there was a 65 per cent chance that the MPC would keep interest rates consistent, while it was stated that there was no possibility of a 0.25 per cent increase. A decrease in the base rate taking place was given a probability of 35 per cent

However, James Caldwell, director for the Fair Investment Company, claimed that the decision by the MPC to keep interest rates as they are will not actually help the many Britons who are currently struggling to meet demands for payment on mortgages, secured loans, utility bills and other expenses in the midst of an unstable financial climate.

Commenting on the decision, he said: "The Bank of England's decision will be a blow for homeowners who are facing higher mortgage repayments as they come off fixed-rate deals which they secured when the market was more stable. While one can see the logic in maintaining the status quo in such uncertain times, a rate cut would have been of great benefit to borrowers struggling to meet repayments and find affordable credit in the current climate of financial turmoil."

Ray Boulger, senior technical manager for John Charcol, also expressed disappointment that the committee did not take the decision to decrease the base rate. He asserted that sub-prime borrowers have been coming under increasing financial pressure over recent months due to lenders increasing the interest rates attached to their loans and tightening their lending criteria. However, he pointed out that despite a number of financial providers withdrawing their products most consumers should be able to find a loan for them which offers "attractive terms".

Meanwhile, Trevor Williams, chief economist for Lloyds TSB, reported that despite the fact that economic growth has been slowing over the past few months, a cut in interest rates would have been unnecessary as a result of Britain's strong labour market and rising money supply. In addition, he pointed out that as inflation is "comfortably below target" any increase was always unlikely to happen. Mr Williams added that any change actioned to the rate "will almost certainly be down", however he reported that it is "safe to say" that any modifications by the MPC will not take place until February next year at the very earliest.

With the MPC once again keeping interest rates steady, now could well be a good time for people considering applying for a loan to actually do so, with possible uses of such borrowing ranging from purchasing a car or family holiday to carrying out home improvements and debt consolidation. Earlier this month, research conducted by Abbey Loans revealed that an estimated 918,000 Britons are looking to use secured loans and other types of borrowing to pay for plastic surgery.

Whatever you call it, cash, money, big pockets or something else, makes no difference. Way back in my earliest franchising experience, we had a board member who was one super guy. His Dad had the big pockets from another business but our board member had lots of wealthy friends too. It was not a big problem for him to add new money within a couple of hours when we needed it.

We'll call him Bill, for short, a young man with lots of connections. He'd come into the office every morning about 10 AM with the Wall Street Journal. Get a cup of coffee and head for the back office. He'd had polio as a teenager and walked with one crutch for balance. Bill was one of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet or have on your board. Smart, college educated, and filled with great ideas.

Our franchisor was new to the franchising business. We were new to the staffing business as proud new franchise owners. None of us had been in or even near a personnel agency or temporary help service. I had a friend who owned the Manpower franchise but nothing more. It didn't seem like he was very interested in my new franchise or helping us to successfully compete with him in the marketplace.

Remember, Bill? He helped us get into this situation by buying the franchise. Several of us had a few dollars invested so the wealth was spread among us. No one took the full load but somebody had to get moving or we'd be broke before we began. Not a good idea for any of us. Unfortunately, our timing was not summa cum laude either. Economics of the marketplace was not treating us with kindness as prospective clientele began to tank and cut staff at the same time.

Gas prices can be bad but no gas is worse. Lines were forming at the stations for 10 gallon, maybe less. For some gas hogs it was awful. People quit going out to eat, cooked at home. Restaurants were going out of business like flies on a porterhouse. Nothing good seemed to be happening in our industry and a newbie like us, got turned down at the door by the gate-keepers. The employees were living in fear of losing their own job and weren't interested in our recruiting or temporary help services.

You see the problem, right? Our timing was not good for buying a franchise. One person on our staff had a few years in the personnel business so all was not lost. We learned quickly, worked very hard to make it happen. Two weeks training at the home office was the franchise industry norm. You return home with all the answers written down in one or two 3 ring binders. Got a problem? Look in the Operations Manual, right? Franchising has come a long way since our day.

Money bags Bill, our guy with the WSJ in hand, was paid a big salary for being or because. For over a year his daily activity was propping his feet on the back office desk and reading the WSJ. Is there a huge message here? Very simple: know your business partners and stockholders. Write out a business plan in detail with everyone accounted for in full disclosure. Survival is your goal without detractors, people who refuse to carry out their part of the business franchise agreement. You must have good accounting guidance and the best legal counsel in managing your due diligence.

While most of us remember dressing in homemade costumes, going from house to house, yelling trick or treat, the trend is having Halloween block parties, or inviting classmates or Sunday School class Halloween lock-in parties. The thing about lock-in parties at local churches, is that there are so many people there to help, and so many things to that self entertaining older children need little help to occupy themselves, and younger children are so easy to entertain and please that the party is bound to be a success.

Of course, in a group situation, like a Halloween lock-in party, if there is a wide range of ages, the party should be divided, if possible, and if not boundaries should be clearly defined, and any contests such as costume, pumpkin decorating and competitive games, should be divided into age groups and the games should be age appropriate. In spite of that, your Halloween lock-in party will be a success with a little planning, and a lot of help, and your kids will be safe and sound all the while.

A responsible adult, dressed as a Halloween party gypsy, can turn a standard gazing ball into a crystal ball, and tell fortunes, or read tarot cards, in a screened off corner of the room. Teenagers, especially, love this kind of thing. Each teen could be required to earn a chocolate coin, to pay for his or her reading, and the loot can be recycled for other games.

Halloween party menus need not be complex. Treats such as tombstone brownies (cut like a tombstone, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and then written R.I.P.) Dips with plastic "bloody" fingers, and the stray eyeball or two, are fun. Graveyard Dirt Desserts (instant puddings topped with crushed Oreo cookies, mounded up to look like graves, covered in dirt) with the odd stray bone or two, or a tiny skeleton hand reaching up through the center, work well. Rather than punch, for a lock-in, you might want to consider large coolers with push button dispensers filled with punch or soft drinks, even water, and throw away cups.

There are many game ideas, party favors, activities, and menu ideas online, in party supply stores, and department store Halloween sections, but if you plan carefully, have music, plenty of spooky snacks and drinks, a little Monster Mash music, and age appropriate music and movies, your Halloween Lock-in Party, is sure to be a night to remember!

What are the most important issues facing the teaching profession presently and in the future?

I'm looking for some updated issues in today's education industry before I decide what my next steps in education will be.

Wow! Deep question. I have been teaching 3rd grade now for 6 years. I have been working with children in various settings (Boys & Girls Club & YMCA) for 13 years. Over the past 13 years I have seen a trend in the attitude of children. This generation of children seems to have no concept of personal responsibility. No matter what the problem it seems that it is never their fault. Parents foster this attitude. They search for every other possible reason for the problem except for their child.

Testing is also a big issue that will continue to cause problems. With the No Child Left Behind Act testing across grade levels are mandatory & will continue to be required. While this is necessary, it also brings a new set of challenges. Teacher teach to the test, politicians increase incentives for high test scores, parents are frustrated with increased work load. All of these problems will continue and will only get worse.

It is said that English is the universal language. It is the official language of over 70 countries and the national language of the U.S. with over 96% of the population claiming to have the ability to speak English "well" or better. With that said, English is still a subject that is taught in US schools from Kindergarten through High School and there is always a demand for teachers who are qualified to teach English.

English teacher requirements include paths to certification similar to that of other teachers. A bachelor's degree and teaching certification is required if you plan on teaching at the elementary, middle, or secondary level. It is recommended that you choose a major in an English related field. For example, in Arizona and other states, many universities offer Secondary and Elementary Language Arts bachelor's degree programs. Other possibilities include an Interdisciplinary Studies program with English as a major. You will find that many schools offer bridged degrees for hopeful teachers. If you are considering pursuing an English teaching position at a college or university, a doctorate degree in an English discipline is usually required unless you are applying at a two year school where candidates with only master's degrees are also considered.

A popular program to pursue for aspiring English teachers is a degree in English Education. These programs usually include courses such as Creative Writing, Literature, Cultural Studies, and Analytical Writing. In addition to these core classes, you will also be required to obtain real-world teaching experience through either student or practice teacher or by acquiring actual field experience. Many universities also offer accelerated Master degree programs where you can complete your undergraduate and graduate courses in 5 years. With most states requiring that all teachers obtain a master's degree within so many years of being certified, these types of programs can be ideal for many aspiring teachers.

In order for you to be accepted into a teacher education program, you will likely need to meet minimum GPA requirements and pass university admissions screening exams. Many colleges offer alternative routes to a teaching certification for students that already possess a bachelor's degree but would like to obtain a certification to teach English. Usually, this will entail enrolling in education courses and acquiring the required number of core English courses. You will also be required to pass either the national or PRAXIS series of teaching exams. Specific requirements vary slightly by state, so it is always a good idea to make direct contact with the state education department to make sure you meet all prerequisites and qualify.

Teachers outside of the United States may also find jobs as English teachers as long as they have degrees that are equivalent and can pass the required proficiency examinations. Foreign aspiring teachers may be required to pass IELTS or TOEFL exams and provide a working visa. Other than that, the requirements to become an English teacher for those not currently living in the States are the same as the process that current US citizens have to follow.

Learning how to speak English and being able to teach it are two entirely different things. Depending on the native tongue of the student, English can be a difficult language to learn. As an English teacher, you will play an important role in developing the creative and language skills of your students.

One of the most discussed methods to counter global warming is carbon capping and charging carbon dioxide emitters a fee to invest in carbon-absorbing technologies. Planting more trees with the monies collected is a frequently mentioned solution, the efficacy of which still remains to be proven.

But how much such an approach would cost per ton of carbon dioxide (CO2) emission? What would be its impact on the global economy? The numbers are slowly emerging.

A United Nations report released in May 2007 suggests that the global effort to reduce the emission of greenhouse gasses like carbon diode could cost the world economy 3% of of its total output by 2030. That is, by 2030 the world economic output could be 3% lower than what it would otherwise have been due to the cost of the programs to fight carbon pollution.

According to the numbers of the World Resources Institute, an environmental think tank in Washington DC, to bring the carbon levels down to those suggested by the UN report would cost $20 to $100 per ton of carbon dioxide.

McKinsey & Co., an energy consulting firm, estimates that it would cost $40 per ton of CO2 to reach the 2030 greenhouse gas levels recommended by the UN study.

In Europe, where "carbon trading" has become a brisk new "derivatives trading" specialty, the price of a ton of CO2 is going for $25, as of May 2007. That's how much it would cost you today to have the right to release a ton of CO2 next year.

Duke Energy Corp. of Charlotte, North Carolina is using the figure of "$7.50 to $30 per ton of CO2" in its future investment plans.

Another learned estimation is provided by Prof. Robert Socolow of Princeton University who is quoted by the Wall Street Journal as having said that a carbon cap that would result in a $30 fee per ton of CO2 emitted would also cost the U.S. consumers an additional 30 cents a gallon at the gas pump.

So estimates still range anywhere between $20 and $100 per ton of CO2 released, leaving plenty room for policy makers and economists to come up with ever-changing alternate plans while providing plenty reasons for the perplexed consumers to scratch their heads.

The way it looks right now, not only the science and politics, but the economics of global warming also looks equally complex.

Step 5. Explore and research

Step 6. Pull your ideas together

Keep the results of all your research into yourself and into the world of work in a folder and regularly review it. Ask yourself what career ideas ring true for you. Consider what you would do if you knew it could not fail - what career dream would you follow then?

Step 7. Challenge the 'Yes, but's...'

We all do it. We all hesitate and draw back when faced with making a big change. But so often these excuses are just that - excuses, repeated out of habit. What would happen if you just did it anyway? Go on, for once in your life, be bold!

Step 8. Be creative in your job search

Once you have decided on your new career, don't just sit back and wait for the right vacancy to arrive in your lap. Go out and look for it. Use all the contacts you have, talk to people, network, let as many people as you can know what you are looking for. The more feelers you put out the more likely you are to find something.

Step 9. Revise your resume

Don't just dish out the same tired old resume. It will need a major overhaul so that you really highlight the transferable skills that you will bring to your new career. Don't just present the facts - show you meet the recruiters needs and sell yourself!

Step 10. Prepare thoroughly for your interviews

Don't fall at the last hurdle. Once you are invited for interview you are on the home stretch. So make sure you know exactly what evidence you can offer to demonstrate that you have the skills and qualities your new employer is looking for. Go in believing in yourself then you will be able to persuade them to believe in you too.

Remember, the only person who can make all this happen is you. So get out your pen now and write down the first step is that you will take - then get on and do it!

Can a child be autistic but also be social?

My son is almost six years old, and he has severe learning difficulties. He had the mind of a two year old at his last assessment.

What did they say at his last assessment? Usually, if the professionals administering the assessment suspect a child has a disorder like Autism they will mention it to the parents and in the written report. Children with severe developmental delays can seem to have the "symptoms" of Autism but that doesn't mean they are Autistic. You should ask his pediatrician, or just read the reports from his evaluations.

I've found in life that just about anything the government has a hand in, is bound to get screwed up. I've seen people freaking out that the unemployment rate has gone up to 5.7%. Yet when Bill Clinton was president 5.5% was considered full employment and in June it was at 5.5%.

I guess the big question is what changed, what caused the jump?

One thing that changed was an increase in minimum wage. Minimum wage went up 70 cents.

When the government steps in and decides how we should run our businesses, we as business owners have to make changes to adjust to their stupid laws.

If I was an employee I'd much rather become an asset to my employer and get paid on my own merits rather than the government forcing my boss to pay me more. Of course the above problems belong to the US and I have to say that I love the US government. They help in alimenting my competition by passing law after law that hinder the ability of website owners to compete in an open market. Of course the funny part is the number of American people that want to pass even more laws that would hinder American business even more.

For example, a couple years ago a group of web designers wanted the government to step in and regulate the web design business. Set up a minimum requirement that a web design business must meet in order to sell websites. While they think this would be a way to eliminate competition, I saw it as a way to eliminate them. Had the government done that, the business owner would have to increase his cost to pay for the school and other regulations that the government would have imposed. Since I'm not in the US I would have not been affected and my prices would have stayed the same. Making it much easier to take their customers from them and increase my monthly income.

Now, don't get me wrong, I've got stupid laws here in Colombia I have to work around. And those laws, that were made to help the employee, have a direct negative impact on almost every employee I hire.

Let me explain.

Here in Colombia, the government in all their wisdom passed a law that said any employee that works for you for more than 3 months gets a tone of benefits along with bunches of money if they decide to quit or I decide to fire them. My past employees took total advantage of this law, some even quitting once the money built up. Then my accountant told me that the government fires everyone they hire, every three months and hire back the employees from the previous three months.

Now I do the same.

The people that got hurt where the people the law was made to protect. Had the government stayed out of it, my employees and many others would have a steady income year round but with the exception of a few that is not the case.

The reason for the rise in unemployment is because the government decided to step in and help out those people, whom on their own are unable to make more than the minimum wage. If these employees deiced to become an asset instead of a minimum wage earner, they'd have nothing to worry about. And if the government stopped trying to help them, they'd still have a job.

Where to study undergraduate Economics in Europe except UK?

Hello to everyone, I wanted to ask whether you know the best undergraduate Economics i can study in Europe not counting the UK.

I know University of Amsterdam offers classes in English. One of those classes is Economics.

Sorry I only know one. But i'm sure you'll find more if you look hard enough.
