Paul Vitz is.................?

A Catholic. Is it alright to lie about a man's religious beliefs to refute atheism or isn't it a sin, according to Average Joe's religion?
Paul C. Vitz, Ph.D. (Stanford University, 1962), is Professor of Psychology, Department of Psychology, New York University and Adjunct Professor, John Paul 11 Institute for Marriage and Family, Washington, D.C. He is a member of the Fellowship of Catholic Scholars and is in active contact with many Evangelical Protestants, e.g., Inter Varsity, and several seriously committed Jews. Besides, his interest in how things religious relate to psychology, he is also involved in the general topic of psychology and art (So far none of his work relevant to this topic is on this web site.)

Nobel, the point is he isn't an atheist.
Addi, the question is, is it a sin to lie like this?

What are you talking about? Besides ranting about Paul Vitz, whoever he is. The question is, is it a sin to lie like this? Like WHAT?

Psychology Fear Of Confrontation

Psychology Fear Of Confrontation Psychology Fear Of Confrontation

How do you find a competent expert to help you with your relationship? If you pay $200 to $500 an hour to try to save your marriage or relationship, and the advice you receive just does not feel right, do you follow the experts recommendations or do you trust your gut instinct? Many of the biggest names in counseling do not have the wisest advice.

Sometimes therapists can be wrong. If you have read a book or listen to a television program that advises you to take action in a surprising way, run it past your extended family first. Often these expert are interested in sales and ratings so shock value is important. Seek out emotionally supportive friends and relatives who care deeply about your happiness and welfare. They can help ground you when your head is swimming and your belly is full of fear from anticipating a break-up or confrontation.

If your loved ones agree on your course of action, you may then want to seek the help of two professional therapists. However, therapists have weaknesses and "issues" just like everyone else. If you touch on a subject that is a hot button for the therapist, he or she might react by personalizing your issue and give you unprofessional advice. If you remind them of their ex, they may not be able to remain unbiased or help you at all.

If you are considering leaving a good spouse with whom you have simply fallen out of love, please take a long time to consider and reconsider possible ways to keep an existing relationship together. As you fantasize about greener grass, realize that replacing a partner is more difficult and takes longer than you might expect. Most patients in their seventies and eighties confess they have fallen in and out of love with their spouses of fifty years many times but stayed together and weathered the ups and downs of their relationship.

If you have substance abuse problems you may have difficulty taking any advice or seeing your behavior clearly. This might be the time to trust an expert even if your inclinations are to ignore their "nagging" suggestions. Few relationships can survive a full blown addiction, without strong intervention and help from professionals.

A therapist can only assist a couple. You must ultimately take responsibility for your own mental health and the health of your relationships. Although an unbiased opinion is an important tool, only you and your partner can heal or destroy your relationship.

Jobs in Birmingham, UK for Americans?

Hi, my fiance and I are moving to Birmingham, UK in January and he is needing a job. We're both Americans and he has a Bachelor's in Psychology but would be up for any type. Thank You!
Just an add: I have a job but he doesn't. Does he have to be hired somewhere to work in the UK or can we move and then he look for a job, like with a work visa?

he will need a visa unless you get married, then he can stay as long as your working a good secure job

to find a quick-fix job, just print off about 100 copies of a 1-2 page resume and leave a copy in various retail outlets, bars, restaurants etc

perhaps he'd like to continue his education in one of our universities just to adjust to the english ways of practice in his chosen field.

Fun Psychology Facts

As I was going through my junk mail the other day, I noticed a school catalog from the local community college. I had taken a few computer classes thinking it would increase my chances at finding a job, although I had never really considered taking a class just for pure fun.

A sense of curiosity and excitement came over me at the prospect that I could go back to school and take a painting class or pottery class or maybe even a tai chi class. These subjects had always interested me but I never felt I had the time to pursue them.

Well, I was going to make the time and drag my mother along to ensure that I followed through.

Not only did I register for a painting class and a tai chi class, my sixty year old mother enrolled in an acting class and the same tai chi I was taking. We could carpool to school and it would give us an opportunity to spend time together.

I am so proud of my mother for doing this and everyone in the tai chi class thinks she's so cute. Most of the students in class are considerably younger. I've also had the opportunity to watch her perform in a school play. She wasn't half bad.

I have found that there are many different age groups, as well as, an eclectic mix of people going back to school these days. I have a more relaxed feeling about attending school for personal enrichment, because I'm not worried about what grade I'm going to receive.

My painting class is a joy and it allows me to get in touch with my more creative soul and less analytical side. This is a welcoming experience.

Even if you are a graduate, consider going back to school and taking classes purely for fun and enjoyment. It keeps the mind active and busy. By the way, if you're having problems motivating yourself to exercise taking up a yoga or tai chi class might be the answer.

What is the financial situation of Richard Dawkins?

And if He is rich because He is so smart, why is it wrong for a televangelist like John Hagee to be well off?? He has 2 Phd's and has to pay for airtime in 96 nations.

Only 3 of those nations are profitable; USA, Bermuda and Canada.

Why is an evangelist "telling people what they want to hear for cash " and Dawkins "writing what people want to hear for cash" different?

Hagee bases his sermons on today's facts, current events, his expertise in abnormal psychology and theology...and the Bible. So please don't say because one is fact and the other is fiction.

Not to mention he is the head spokesperson for Christianity of Migdahl Ohr, a charity that brings abandoned poor Jewish kids out of Russia into Israel and gives them a home. Why is this so offensive to people, yet they have no problem giving their money to McDonalds, Paris Hilton and Richard Dawkins?

Lets have some good strong opinions! Have Fun!

Blessings,
David T
